Tip Your Hat to Country George Friday, Sept. 1

Sept. 1 welcomes first Friday with a country twist.

Southern Utah prepares to celebrate Country George this month with a tip of the hat to knee-slapping, boot-tapping music and fun. Friday night, Sept. 1, at Historic Downtown St. George, Georgefest will sponsor the third annual George Mustache Contest at the Jazz Garden at 8:30 p.m., and an array of live music performers slated to offer a musical lineup with a country twist. Attendees are encouraged to don boots, favorite cowboy hats and well-waxed mustaches.

The third annual George Mustache Contest will take place at the Jazz Garden at Green Gate Village at 8:30 p.m.

Friday night’s Main Street FREE Concert will feature the Shakers at 7 p.m. followed by the crowd-favored DJ Dance Party. At historic Green Gate Village, Jazz Garden guests will be treated to local artist Tyler Sevy – lead singer of The Whiskey Tooth Revival – in solo acoustic guitar fashion leading up to a headline performance by Cedar City’s own Full Tilt Boogie.

Tyler Sevy set to kick things off with an acoustic set at the Jazz Garden at 6:30 p.m.

Celebrating its 29th event, Georgefest is known for its Food Truck Village, buskers performing for tips, Jazz Garden for adults 21 and over, and artists and crafters selling their goods at the Main Street Market. Created by Emceesquare Media and launching June 2015, Georgefest is a favorite nightlife event for local residents and tourists. One of the area’s only pet-friendly event venues, Georgefest has developed a following of regular four-legged friends and loyal attendees.

Georgefest is nightlife you can get excited about on the first Friday evening of every month at Historic Downtown St. George. This kind of fun is good for you. For more information, email info@georgefest.org. Or visit the event website.
